New Fayette Mall ‘upscale sports bar’ will have Topgolf Swing Suites
Lexington may not be getting a Topgolf venue just yet but a new sports bar coming to Fayette Mall will be giving off major Topgolf vibes.
Par 6 Social, which will open in the former Bar Louie location in early 2023, will have three Topgolf Swing Suites for customers to practice their swings.
Bar Louie, which opened at the mall on Nicholasville Road in 2017, closed in June 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“Fayette Mall is excited to welcome Par 6 Social Top Golf Swing Suites to its ever-growing tenant mix,” said Sarah Robinson, mall general manager, in a statement. “The restaurant will bring a new vibrancy to the front of the shopping center with its delicious menu and interactive experiences.”
Par 6 Social owner Bob Megazzini said the suites, which can accommodate up to eight people at a time, are state-of-the-art golf simulators that will let players play more than 84 PGA tour courses, as well as other games including soccer, hockey, baseball and zombie dodgeball.
It’s part of what will make Par 6 Social a unique venue, he said.
Suites can be booked for reservations one at a time or together to accommodate larger groups. There also will be a private dining room with a 75-inch TV for parties.
Par 6 Social: Sports bar menu
“It’s kind of an upscale sports bar, is the best way to describe it,” Megazzini said. The bar also will have 13 large screen TVs and a menu of favorites including burgers, wings, chops and steaks. “But we also hope to have more creative gastropub type dishes,” he said.
The bar will have a menu of hand-crafted cocktails plus 16 draft beers, including many local craft brews, he said.
The bar will have seating for 165 inside with covered outside tables too, he said.
Megazzini said he hopes to open in February.
The mom-and-pop pub will be the first on his own but he’s been in the hospitality business for more than 40 years, starting as a chef and working his way up to hotel management. He worked at the Marriott Griffin Gate Resort from 1999 to 2004, where he managed the food and beverage business.
He said that Par 6 Social is a concept designed to appeal to those who want to play as well as watch sports.
“I think the niche I’m bringing is an upscale sports bar feel with something to do. Instead of just sitting in front of the TV, you can get involved and play games. But if you just want to watch the games, you can do that too,” he said.
