New chicken restaurant coming to Central Kentucky. When it will open, what’s on the menu
A new chicken chain is coming to Central Kentucky.
Indiana-based Cluckers is opening a location in Versailles around the end of the year.
Amy McKnight, one of the owners of the Versailles restaurant, said that Cluckers hopes to open in about four to six weeks at 480 Lexington Rd. The location is in the shopping center where the Save-A-Lot is, near the Lexington Rd., Versailles Bypass split.
“We’re really excited to come,” McKnight said. “We’ve had a lot of positive feedback from from the community.”
She said Cluckers is a “family-oriented sports-themed bar with an emphasis on chicken.” It will be open for lunch and dinner daily.
The menu includes wings, both regular and boneless, plus chicken tenders and a variety of sauces. There also are burgers, sandwiches and appetizers.
The bar will serve cocktails and beer, including from local breweries including Versailles Brewing, Country Boy and Mirror Twin.
McKnight said that she and her partners are the first to operate a franchise of Cluckers, which has three Indiana locations as well as one in Shepherdsville. McKnight said that they will be looking at expanding in Central Kentucky.
“At some point, yes, there will be others. We have talked about it, but we don’t have a date to pursue it yet,” she said.
