Main Event entertainment venue announces Lexington grand opening plans, date
Main Event, a new entertainment venue coming to Lexington, has set a grand opening date.
The Main Event at 240 Canary Rd. off of Nicholasville Road in the South Park shopping center and visible from New Circle Road will celebrate its grand opening on March 31, according to a news release. After the ribbon cutting ceremony, doors will open at noon and the first 200 people in line will get free laser tag for a year.
“We cannot wait for Lexington families to experience our one-of-a-kind venue,” said AJ Harpring, general manager of Main Event Lexington, in a statement. “We couldn’t be more proud to open our 56th location, and bring fun, games and memories to the Lexington community.”
This will be the second Kentucky location; there also is a Main Event in Louisville.
The 50,000-square-foot venue, which will open to the public on March 29, will have hundreds of games and activities including laser tag, video games, gravity ropes, virtual reality, billiards and 22 state-of-the-art bowling lanes, each with VIP seating.

The restaurant inside, called Family Kitchen, will feature a family-friendly menu with items such as the Cheesy Lava Burger and Mason Jar Cheesecake. Main Event also has a full bar and lots of televisions for watching sporting events. The venue offers spaces for birthday parties, meetings and social or corporate occasions, including full-venue rental.
Main Event Entertainment is owned by Dave & Buster’s Entertainment. Before the COVID pandemic hit, a Dave & Buster’s had been planned for the Lexington site at South Park.
