Downtown Lexington restaurant closes for unexpected repairs, will reopen

A downtown Lexington restaurant known for fine French cuisine and an elegant atmosphere has closed temporarily.

La Folie, at 111 Woodland Ave. in the The Woodlands building on Main Street, is closed for repairs, according to restaurant owner Carlo Vaccarezza.

According to Vaccarezza, a pipe burst overnight Thursday and damaged flooring throughout.

“Unsafe floor’s condition from a ruptured water pipe will force La Folie to temporarily closed for floor repairs,” Vaccarezza said in an email early Friday. “We are sorry for any inconvenience that may cause, will reopen as soon repairs are concluded.”

It’s unclear how long the repairs will take at the fine dining restaurant.

The restaurant opened in September 2022, offering a menu of French favorites in a cozy romantic atmosphere.

Vaccarezza, who also owns Thoroughbred racehorses, also owns Frank & Dino’s Italian restaurant on West Short Street.
