A young entrepreneur who already has one restaurant concept going in Western Kentucky is launching a second one in his hometown of Nicholasville.

Landon Marsh, 19, started Landon’s Sugar Shack in Bowling Green in 2022, and has been scouring Lexington for a location for another Sugar Shack.

But he isn’t waiting: Now he’s opening a new restaurant in his hometown called Bubba Grub, which he hopes to open by early October.

The fast-casual restaurant will be 1001 Elizabeth St. in Nicholasville just off U.S. 27, Marsh said. It’s located across the street from Toyota on Nicholasville, in the closed Jack’s Eatery location of a shared building with an Amoco gas station and Jordy’s Family Restaurant.

The menu will feature wings, “smash” burgers and fish, “as well as a few other dishes,” including milkshakes, he said. “Keeping everything fresh, never frozen.” Open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

Marsh said he hopes to expand this concept as well and bring it to Bowling Green, Louisville and Cincinnati.

Marsh also is an interior designer and in September he’s opening a bar next door to his restaurant in Bowling Green called GVO Lounge & Cigar Bar at 1026 Chestnut St. Suite B.

A Nicholasville native, Marsh comes from a restaurant family known as MGH Hospitality which has been serving families since 1992 and is most known for Coney Island and Anthony’s Fat Burgers, both in Lexington.
