Inebriated Baker, which opened in the mall in 2022, is closing its doors this month, according to owner Danielle Rowell, who goes by “Col. Danielle Rowell” because she is a Kentucky Colonel.

She announced the plans on social media; the last day will be Aug. 25. According to the post, limited flavors will be available in the store daily.

Rowell said that her cupcakes and cheese spreads still will be available online for shipping, with a seasonal food truck coming in 2025. She also will continue with local catering orders as well, she said.

Inebriated Baker, which sells “edible cocktails” in cupcake form (alcohol soaked) that taste like your favorite cocktails complete with alcoholic kick, started as a food stall in 2020 in Julietta Market in Greyline Station before graduating to a full-scale business. Inebriated Baker also sells non-alcoholic cupcakes as well.

What’s next for Inebriated Baker?

So why is she closing the store at 3401 Nicholasville Rd. located inside next to Coach?

“I have a huge expansion and rebranding coming in 2025-26,” Rowell said. “I’m really excited about the next phase.”

She said that she is evaluating her needs but for now you can find her at pop-up at festivals later this year including the Midway Fall Fest, Lexington’s ScareFest and the Junior League of Lexington’s Holly Day Market.
