New soup and sandwich restaurant opening in Lexington. Here’s how to get free meals.
Great news, soup and sandwich fans: Lexington is getting another Panera Bread.
The new restaurant is opening on Aug. 9 at 1816 Alysheba Way, in the former BurgerFi location in the Hamburg shopping center. The gourmet burger chain location was ordered closed in March 2023 for owing back taxes.
The new Panera Bread bakery cafe will give away a year’s worth of free “Your Pick Two” meals to the first 50 guests on Friday Aug. 9 and on Saturday Aug. 10. The popular order lets you two pick half-size entrees from the menu of soups, salads, sandwiches and more. Panera will open at 5:30 a.m. on Friday and at 6 a.m. on Saturday.
This location will have a drive-thru as well as other rapid pick-up options. Online ordering, dining in and catering also are available.
The bakery cafe will have the full Panera menu, including new items such as Avocado Toast and the return of Blueberry and Sesame Bagels.
“We are thrilled to open this new beautiful location in Lexington,” said Nathan Comley, the area operator for Panera. “We are excited to grow our presence in the wonderful community and look forward to delivering the great tasting food and impeccable service our Kentucky guests have come to expect from Panera.”
There also Panera Bread locations in the Lexington area at 2887 Richmond Rd., 2230 Nicholasville Rd., 3705 Palomar Centre and 101 Cynthia Dr. in Brannon Crossing in Nicholasville, as well as in Georgetown, Richmond and Frankfort.
