Lexington sushi restaurant opens another location with Wagyu, grilled Japanese dishes

Fans of top-notch sushi and Japanese cuisine have a new spot to check out, if you can get a reservation.

Omakase Sushi & Grill has opened at 3900 Fountain blue Lane #110 in Fountains of Palomar shopping enter off Harrodsburg and Man o’ War.

The restaurant, from owner Guang Ni, is a sister to the Omakase Sushi & Sake Bar in Chevy Chase that opened in May 2022.

Omakase Palomar opened in late January and is taking reservations.

Both feature high quality sushi, with a focus on chef-selected special sets called “omakase,” for Individual items also can be ordered The new location also offers grilled appetizers and entrees including grilled Japanese Tiger Shrimp seasoned with smoky curry, known as Kuruma Ebi Don, for $32. And aged Wagyu Tokusen beef for $75.

Omakase joins several other restaurants at the growing shopping center, which also will be home to Lexington’s second Publix supermarket when the store opens later this spring.

Omakase is near Playa Bowls, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Starbucks, Bella Cafe and Grill, Jersey Mike’s Subs and Papi’s at Palomar.

Omakase owner Ni also is expected to open another new restaurant this year: Umami Ramen & Grill is coming soon to Chevy Chase at 836 Euclid Ave.
