Lexington Chicken Sandwich Week: Local restaurants have $7 specials
A Lexington dining event is back for its fifth year.
Lexington Chicken Sandwich Week returns Feb. 23 through March 1 with off-menu, specially crafted chicken sandwiches at eight local restaurants.
“The excitement kind of builds up the closer you get to the week of the promotion,” said Matt Borland, Rise n Brine and East End Tap and Table co-owner. “Chicken sandwich fans definitely seem to enjoy the specials.”
The price for each of the special chicken sandwiches is only $7.
The foodie event is organized by local Cumulus Media radio stations, which will have voting for the best sandwich on their local affiliate websites, including k929fm.com. Voting runs through March 2.
“We do chicken sliders and they are popular with our customers so we hope they love the Winchester Chicken Slider for chicken sandwich week,” said J.B. Steele’s General Manager Jason Neely. “If it goes over well it might just get added to the menu!”

Azur Restaurant & Patio
Azur Restaurant & Patio, 3070 Lakecrest Circle; Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich. Buttermilk-brined and fried chicken thigh with house-made hot honey, cheddar cheese, lettuce, garlic dill pickles and mayo on a brioche bun. This is Chef Tim Perkins’ signature dish.

Banners, 3650 Boston Rd.; House-made Cajun Chicken Salad Sandwich. Banners house-made Cajun chicken salad sandwich served on your choice of toasted bread with lettuce and tomato.
The Cellar Bar & Grille
The Cellar Bar & Grille, 3256 Lansdowne Dr.; The Focaccia ‘Bout it. Crispy, mozzarella, sun-dried tomato pesto, banana peppers, arugula and a drizzle of Calabrian hot honey on a focaccia roll.
East End Tap and Table
East End Tap and Table, 333 E Main St.; Chicken Cutlet Caesar. Italian panko chicken with romaine kale lettuce, homemade Caesar dressing, shaved Parmesan cheese on a toasted garlic bread.

J.B. Steele’s, 4750 Hartland Parkway; The Winchester Chicken Sliders. Marinated grilled chicken breast with house-made beer cheese, bacon, shredded lettuce, tomato on toasted slider buns.

Rise N’ Brine, 331 Romany Rd.; Pimento Chicken Sandwich. Pickle-brined and fried chicken breast with house-made pimento cheese, bacon and tomato slices on a toasted potato bun.
