The new concept, which is behind the original Carson’s in downtown Lexington at 321 E. Vine St., will begin taking reservations online May 4 at carsonsbackporch.com. Open Table reservations will begin May 18.

The new restaurant is in the former Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken location, which closed last August.

The building has recently been completely repainted on the outside, and the interior has been extensively remodeled.

According to Carson’s, the vibe inside now is “a Charleston porch brought indoors,” with exposed brick walls, the soft glow of chandeliers, flickering copper lanterns and plush tufted booths.

Details on the menu and on the drinks menu, which will include hand-crafted cocktails such as The 007, made with Hendrick’s Gin, Tito’s Handmade Vodka and Lillet Blanc French Aperitif Wine, and The Jackie-O, made with Tito’s, Vanilla Syrup, Chambord and pineapple juice.

The menu will feature some favorites from Carson’s, which also has a location in Andover, as well as new items.

There will be a 16-seat bar and a large dining room that gives the feel of the outdoors, according to Carson’s.
