Last month, the property at 801 N. Broadway sold for $550,000 to the family that has the Tres Hermanos Nunez restaurant chain around Kentucky.

Jennifer Nunez said they are planning to put in a breakfast/brunch/lunch cafe there.

The building will undergo renovations and remodeling, she said, but they hope it will open by the end of this year or in early 2027.

In the meantime, JP’s Taqueria is leasing the lot for a food truck, she said.

JP’s Taqueria, which has two other locations in Lexington, sells Mexican street food such as quesabirrias, street tacos, fish tacos, tortas, burritos, street corn, chocoflan and more.
