Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux, which ESPN has called the No. 1 sports bar in America, is coming to Lexington.

The new restaurant is going into former Tilted Kilt spot at 1030 S. Broadway and will use recently vacated KSBar & Grille next door as a game-day venue with a Kentucky Sports Radio presence, according to a news release. Tilted Kilt closed in May; KSBar & Grille closed in early June.

The sports bar and venue will open ahead of football season, according to business partners Jamie Daniel and KSR founder Matt Jones.

Walk-On’s will be open year-round, while the event venue next door will operate on Kentucky game days and select special events, including trivia with KSR founder Matt Jones.

“As a Kentucky native and die-hard Kentucky fan, opening a Walk-On’s here was a long time coming,” Daniel said in the announcement. “By partnering with Matt and the KSR community, we’re serving a fan base that lives and breathes Kentucky sports. We believe this creates a destination unlike anything else in the market.”

The event venue will host the popular sports radio team’s live broadcasts on game days, according to the release.

“KSBar has always been about bringing Kentucky fans together,” said Jones said in a statement. “This partnership allows us to preserve that spirit while giving fans access to a bigger experience, a larger menu and the resources of one of the most successful sports bar brands in the country. We’ll still be here on game days, broadcasting KSR live and celebrating Kentucky sports, but now with Walk-On’s helping take the experience to the next level.”

What is Walk-On’s menu, atmosphere like?

The sports bar will have 50 TVs and an expansive scratch-made menu of wings, burgers, Cajun food, seafood, tacos, sandwiches, cocktails, margaritas, beer and desserts as well as a kids’ menu.

Walk-On’s plans to partner with local schools, youth sports organizations and charitable initiatives throughout Lexington.

Daniel is also developing other Walk-On’s franchise locations as part of his Daniel Hospitality Group, including a partnership with country music star Cole Swindell in Nashville’s Broadway district.
