Country Boy Brewing is opening a new taproom and restaurant in The Commons, a new entertainment district just off of Leestown Road.

The 42-acre booming development is already home to the RD1Spritis Distillery and tasting room as well as Battle Axes, with a new park and other amenities coming.

The new taproom will be located between the RD1 distillery tasting room and the new OBC Kitchen, coming from Bluegrass Hospitality Group.

The new location will seat more than 150 people in a casual atmosphere and feature 24 beer taps, including many of Country Boy’s favorites such as Cougar Bait American Blonde Ale, the brewery said.

This will be Country Boy’s fourth taproom and restaurant location, following the original on Chair Avenue, the larger location in Georgetown and a venue inside PKL Lex just off Winchester and Midland.

“This will bring the vibe and excitement that we see in our Georgetown taproom to the heart of Lexington,” said Daniel “DH” Harrison, founder and brand manager for Country Boy Brewing, in a statement. “We are really excited to be a part of this new district in Lexington that will have such a variety of businesses curated by the leaders at The Commons.”

The new restaurant will serve a full menu of Country Boy BBQ as well as new dishes, according to a news release.

It is expected to open in September.

“Country Boy is exactly the kind of partner we set out to bring to The Commons,” said Daren Turner, developer of The Commons. “With RD1 and OBC next door, we’re building a district where great local food and drink sit alongside live music and entertainment, and Country Boy’s following makes them a natural fit. We’re very excited to have them.”
