Popular Lexington restaurant named one of America’s top independent dining spots

A popular Italian-inspired Lexington restaurant received some recognition from a trade publication recently.

Mileta was named one of FSR Magazine’s Top 50 Independent Restaurants in America.

The FSR (Full-Service Restaurant) list, which is in its fourth year, highlights “the mom-and-pop owners and teams creating experiences guests can’t find anywhere else.”

The magazine said the fine dining restaurant located at Fayette Mall “has quickly earned a place in Lexington’s dining scene by paring craft with genuine warmth.”

Bucatini with Shrimp & Salumi Sugo is a new pasta course item for Summer 2026 at Mileta. The dish is made with bucatini pasta tossed in a citrusy salumi sugo with shrimp, pickled peppers and fennel pollen. The local restaurant is known for its pasta made in house.

In a social media post, Mileta said making the list is “a privilege we don’t take lightly,” thanking its employees and guests.

Mileta is known for its housemade pastas, seasonal menus featuring local ingredients, craft cocktails and award-winning decor. Owners Dallas Rose and Alex Green opened the restaurant in 2024.
