Lexington reports 20 new COVID-19 cases, including 14 at Federal Medical Center.

The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department announced 20 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday, matching the number of new cases from over the weekend.

The total number of confirmed cases in Fayette County is now 572. There have been 243 cases at the Federal Medical Center on Leestown Road, according to the health department; 14 of those were new Tuesday. COVID-19 has affected thousands of prison inmates nationwide, according to the Bureau of Prisons.

There were no new coronavirus-related deaths, the health department said. There have been 12 in the county thus far, including three inmates at the FMC.
