‘The fight is not over.’ Kentucky reports 315 more coronavirus cases, two more deaths.

Kentucky had 315 new cases of COVID-19 reported Saturday, bringing the state’s total to 12,445, according to a news release from Gov. Andy Beshear.

Two more coronavirus-related deaths were reported, a 68-year-old man from Grayson County and a 78-year-old man from Oldham County. So far, 499 Kentuckians have died.

“As we reopen, we must continue to follow precautions and protect each other,” Beshear said in the release. “We’ve come a long way but the fight is not over.”

At least 3,409 Kentuckians have recovered from the virus.

On Friday, the state reported 331 new cases of coronavirus. Beshear said a database the state uses to track cases of the virus was down Thursday, which resulted in Friday’s higher number.
