Back by popular demand, travelers at Blue Grass Airport can now catch non-stop daily flights to New York City via Delta Air Lines, the airport announced last week.

For the Lexington airport, it marks the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic it’s been able to offer year-round flights to New York’s LaGuardia Airport. It’s also been a persistent ask from Blue Grass Airport travelers since the flight was discontinued.

“We’ve consistently heard from community members eager for the return of non-stop service between Lexington and New York,” Eric Frankl, president & CEO of Blue Grass Airport, said in a news release, encouraging passengers to take advantage of the flight so it sticks around.

“We’re excited that Delta Air Lines has reinstated this flight,” he said.

Here’s what to know about the Blue Grass Airport’s returning flights to New York City.

What’s the schedule for the flights?

Departing and returning flights are available six days a week from Sunday through Friday according to the following schedule:

  • Lexington (LEX) Departure Time: 6:55 a.m.

  • New York (LGA) Arrival Time: 8:57 a.m.

  • New York (LGA) Departure Time: 7:45 p.m.

  • Lexington (LEX) Arrival Time: 9:51 p.m.

How much do the flights cost?

The flights can be booked through delta.com.

Prices are variable and subject to change. As of May 9, in one example, a review of the next available non-stop, round-trip flight to New York Tuesday, May 20 costs $424.52, before taxes and fees.

In addition to New York, Delta also offers nonstop flights to Atlanta, Detroit and Washington, D.C., for Blue Grass Airport travelers.

Blue Grass Airport also offers several seasonal flights through different carriers, the latest being Allegiant Air flights to a top Florida beach.
