The following Lexington grocery stores will be open for Labor Day, though you may want to check the store’s hours online before making the trip:

Lexington’s Labor Day waste collection schedule

Lexington suspends its trash-collection services for the Labor Day holiday. The city’s waste management and recycling centers will also be closed.

According to a notice from the city’s waste management division, residents and businesses that normally get curbside trash pick up Mondays will instead be served Wednesday, Sept. 3.

Trash pick up on other days of the week won’t be affected. Remember to place your carts on the curb after 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Businesses with dumpsters will receive pick up services according to the following schedule:

  • Dumpsters typically collected by the city Mondays will be collected Tuesday, Sept. 2.
  • Dumpsters typically collected by the city Tuesdays will be collected Sept. 3.
  • Thursday and Friday dumpster collection won’t be affected.
