Motorcyclist involved in serious Lexington crash dies five days later

A motorcyclist involved in a serious collision in Lexington has died, according to the Fayette County Coroner’s Office.

Andrew Glasscock, 41, of Georgetown, was pronounced dead at 1:43 a.m. Wednesday, May 20. The coroner’s office said he was riding a motorcycle that was involved in a crash that happened Friday on Athens Boonesboro Road at the entrance to Jacobson Park.

The manner of Glasscock’s death was listed as an accident, according to the coroner’s office. He died from multiple blunt force injuries.

The collision involved an SUV and a motorcycle and sent five people to a hospital. Glasscock and one person from the SUV sustained serious injuries.

The victim from the SUV had to be extricated from the vehicle using jaws, Battalion Chief Derek Roberts of the Lexington Fire Department previously said. Three other people had minor injuries as a result of the collision.

The inbound lanes of Athens Boonesboro Road were closed while officials with the Collision Reconstruction Unit investigated the scene. No information about what caused the collision has been released.
