The plane taking passengers from Lexington to the Mile High City is now an Airbus A319, which includes 126 seats and a larger first-class cabin. The airport said that’s an increase of more than 50 seats from the previous aircraft, which had a 76-seat capacity, including 12 first-class cabin seats.

“We’re grateful to United Airlines for continuing to invest in our community with this upgrade to a larger, more spacious aircraft—something we know our passengers truly value,” Eric Frankl, President & CEO of Blue Grass Airport, said in a news release. “Not only does this enhancement provide a more comfortable travel experience, but it also expands access to westbound destinations.”

The non-stop daily flights to Denver started at Blue Grass Airport in September 2023. Denver’s airport has more than 70 connections to westbound destinations including the western United States, Alaska, Hawaii, Western Canada, Mexico and Japan.
