Lexington police are searching for a 32-year-old man accused of fatally shooting a man in July.
Jermaine D. Yates is wanted for the July 1 murder of Kerry Douglass Kenney, 31, who was a passenger in a car on that stopped on Short Street near North Broadway, police said.
Police said in July they did not believe the shooting occurred where Kenney was found in the back seat, Detectives believed a drug transaction led up to the shooting.
Kenney’s homicide is one of 21 this year in Lexington, according to police data. All but three of those were from gunshots.
