Victim of fatal crash that closed a major Lexington road Friday morning is identified

A man who died in a crash that shut down Man o’ War Boulevard Friday morning has been identified.

Aaron Mabry, 35, was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision at Man o’ War and Victoria Way at 9:18 a.m. as a result of multiple blunt force trauma, the Fayette County Coroner’s Office said in a news release Friday afternoon.

Mabry was the driver of a passenger car that police said was hit on the driver’s side by a Dodge pickup truck.

Police said the driver of the truck was blinded by the morning sun and ran a red light on the outer loop of Man o’ War near Pax Christi Catholic Church at 8:39 a.m..

The driver of the truck was not injured.

Man o’ War was shut down in both directions for hours while police investigated.
