Motorcyclist in Lexington seriously hurt after early-morning wreck, police say
A motorcyclist in Lexington was seriously hurt early Friday morning after being involved in a wreck, according to police.
The crash happened around 1:45 a.m. on Tates Creek Road near the intersection of Turkey Foot Road. Lt. Samantha Moore with the Lexington Police Department said the motorcyclist crashed into a concrete barrier. The motorcycle was the only vehicle involved in the crash.
The motorcyclist was transported to a hospital, according to Moore. His injuries were described as life-threatening.
It’s unknown what caused the crash. Moore said the collision reconstruction unit was investigating the crash.
It was one of two major motorcycle crashes in Central Kentucky Friday morning. Another one in Georgetown left a 43-year-old motorcyclist dead.
