Updated: Coroner identifies woman who died in a Lexington crash
The Fayette County Coroner’s Office has identified the woman who was killed in a crash late Sunday.
Colleen Hosmer, 28, of Lexington, was declared dead at 10:21 p.m. from the collision, according to the coroner’s office. Her cause of death is pending an autopsy.
The single-vehicle crash happened in the area of 4300 Bryan Station Road around 9:30 p.m., according to Lexington police Lt. Joe Anderson. Hosmer was declared dead on scene of the collision shortly after the arrival of police and EMS.
The woman was the only person in the vehicle, according to Anderson.
The crash was determined to be an accident, according to the coroner’s office. The cause of the collision was unknown, according to Anderson. The Lexington Police Department’s collision reconstruction unit responded to the scene to investigate. The coroner’s office was also investigating.
It’s the 29th fatal collision in Lexington this year. Kentucky State Police have officially documented 28 of the crashes, the latest of which left 18-year-old Braxton Willoughby after an incident on I-75.
