Coroner identifies pedestrian who died after hit and run crash in Lexington

A pedestrian who was hit by a car in Lexington early Tuesday has died.

The collision happened around 12:51 a.m. on North Broadway near Fourth Street.

The Fayette County Coroner’s Office said Anna Kolokotsas, 44, of Lexington, was pronounced dead at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital at 1:46 a.m.

Lt. Meredith Taylor of the Lexington Police Department said the driver of the vehicle fled the scene after the collision. Police didn’t have a description of the vehicle to release, Taylor said.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene to investigate, Taylor said. The road has since reopened.
