The crash happened around 12:59 p.m. on Versailles Road near Man O’ War Boulevard. Lexington Police Department Lt. Jeff Howard said a car and tractor-trailer towing another collided, sending the driver of the car to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The Lexington Traffic Management Center said all inbound lanes of Versailles Road are blocked off, and traffic is being diverted onto Man o’ War Boulevard.

The left turn lanes from Versailles Road to Man o’ War Boulevard are also closed, according to the center. Northbound Man o’ War Boulevard traffic is being diverted to Parkers Mill Road unless heading to Blue Grass Airport.

The Lexington Police Department said the closures are expected to last for a few hours. The department’s collision reconstruction unit has been called to the scene to investigate, which implies at least one person has suffered serious injuries or died.
