Repaving will begin March 23 in an area between Loudon Avenue and New Circle Road, city officials said.

The project will mill and repave over 18,000 feet in that area. Work is expected to be completed within about four weeks, weather permitting.

Several different sections of streets off East Loudon Avenue in that area will be repaved as part of the project, including Carneal Road, Marcellus Drive, Darley Drive, Meadow Lane, Cicada Avenue, Oak Hill Drive, Idlewild Court, Churchill Drive, Highland Park Drive, Castlewood Drive and Bryan Avenue.

Several residential streets will be repaved as part of a project in Lexington.

Residents on the affected streets will need to move vehicles off streets when work is scheduled. Flyers will be put on residents’ doors to notify them when vehicles need to be moved. Drivers in the area should watch for lane closures and follow signage for any detours. This work is part of the Meadows/Northland/Arlington Project to improve neighborhood infrastructure in the areas around Bluegrass and Highlawn Avenues, city officials said.

The repaving in the neighborhood isn’t the only construction planned for the area. A new pedestrian walkway is also under construction at Bryan and Loudon avenues.
