Use canned goods to pay for Lexington Parking Authority meter citations

The Lexington Parking Authority is offering a chance for citizens to clear their parking records and help out those in need this holiday season with a Food for Fines program.

From Nov. 17 to Dec. 19, citizens can take 10 cans of food to the Lexpark office at 122 North Broadway to pay for any meter citation. The hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Customers with multiple meter citations may bring in 10 cans for each one, including those that are past due.

The canned goods will be donated to God's Pantry Food Bank. Canned goods should be at least 14 to 15 ounces.
