Central Kentucky man dies after getting hit by an SUV, sheriff’s office says
A 47-year-old man died after he was hit by a vehicle in Scott County Saturday evening, according to the Scott county sheriff’s office.
Georgetown and Scott County officials responded Saturday to the crash, which occurred just after 7:30 p.m. on McClelland Circle near Fincastle Way, according to the sheriff’s office.
Investigators said the driver was going West on McClelland Circle when he hit a pedestrian who was in the road. The victim was identified as Christopher Bell, a Georgetown resident, according to Scott County Coroner John Goble.
The crash was still being investigated Sunday. The driver of the SUV involved in the crash was “cooperating with the investigation,” the Scott County sheriff’s office said.
Bell’s funeral was being handled by Tucker, Yocum and Wilson Funeral Home in Georgetown, according to the sheriff’s office.
