Truck hits Central Kentucky Waffle House, causes damage to the building
A Waffle House in Georgetown suffered damage on Tuesday after a truck ended up inside the building, according to the Georgetown Fire Department.
It happened at the Waffle House on Outlet Center Drive near I-75. Photos posted by the Georgetown Fire Department showed a pickup truck had broken through a window and wound up halfway into the building. Firefighters appeared to use wood posts to stabilize the building after getting the truck out of the structure.
“Thankfully no one was hurt, but you might need to make different plans if this was your normal breakfast spot,” the fire department said in a Facebook post.
WKYT, the Herald-Leader’s reporting partner, reported that the truck somehow started while the owner was inside the restaurant. It’s unclear how the truck started.
The truck is a remote-start vehicle and doesn’t have a key, according to WKYT.
