A man died Friday after a car crashed into the rear of a parked tractor-trailer at an Interstate 75 rest area, a Scott County deputy sheriff said.
The victim, a passenger in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene, said Deputy Sheriff Chris Tudor. The victim was not identified pending notification of relatives.
Two other people in the car were taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, Tudor said. The truck driver, who was sleeping in the cab, was not injured.
The crash was reported a little before 2 p.m. Friday at the southbound rest area in Scott County, Tudor said.

The GMC Acadia with a Michigan license plate was pulling off the interstate when it crashed into the rear of the tractor-trailer.
“We’re not sure what led up to that right now,” Tudor said.
The tractor-trailer was parked in a rear lot designated for commercial vehicles, he said.
