Man dies after being shot multiple times in Lexington’s 4th July homicide

In Lexington’s fourth homicide in July and 12th for the year, a man died after a shooting on Versailles Road in Lexington, according to police.

Police found Tyreece Lionel Clark, 40, shot multiple times at Day’s Motel annex on Versailles Road near Delmont Drive about 9:18 p.m. Sunday, police Lt. David Biroschik said.

Clark died just after 11 p.m. Sunday at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital, according to the Fayette County Coroner’s Office.

Police are looking for three suspects, possibly juveniles, last seen driving a black Chevrolet S-10, Biroschik said.

The victim and suspects appear to have known each other, police said.

Investigators cannot say definitively that the Versailles Road shooting and two other shootings over the weekend are unrelated, police spokeswoman Brenna Angel said. Officers are currently “exploring all possibilities.”

Charles Shryock, 29, died Saturday morning at the corner of Race and Third streets, according to police and the coroner’s office..

Another person suffered non-life-threatening injuries in a shooting Saturday night outside Fayette Mall, according to police. That victim has not been cooperative with investigators, Angel said.

In 2017, 11 adults and one juvenile have been killed by gunshot wounds.
