Surveillance video leads to return of Walmart customer’s stolen wallet
Lexington police have identified the woman who took another customer’s wallet at Walmart on Richmond Road.
Police released surveillance video on Saturday of the woman taking the wallet and the wallet was returned within hours, police said.
Charges are pending, police said.
A woman who had just checked out at the Walmart on Sept. 3 accidentally left her wallet on the counter next to the register and the woman behind her in line picked up the wallet and placed it in her purse. She initially denied having it, police said.
