Police obtain arrest warrant in temple shooting in Lexington

An arrest warrant has been obtained for a man suspected of being involved in a shooting in October outside of Bharatiya Temple & Cultural Center in Lexington.

Two male victims stepped outside the temple on Oct. 28 and were met by a another man, who shot them both, then fled according to police. The victims’ injuries weren’t life-threatening.

Police said they have determined that Sunilkamar Ramabhai Patel and one of the victims were acquaintances, and the shooting was a result of a domestic dispute.

Patel is wanted on a charge of second-degree assault, and police are searching for him.

Anyone with information about Patel’s whereabouts is asked to contact Lexington police at 859-258-3600.
