Police searching for man and woman accused in fatal shooting outside Lexington motel

Lexington police are looking for a man and a woman who are wanted for murder and robbery in the fatal shooting of a man outside a Motel 6 last month.

Police said they have obtained warrants charging Dontate Burruss, 46, and Darica Lynem, 41, with murder and first-degree robbery in the death of James Adroiunt White.

White, 40, was shot in the thigh outside the motel on Newtown Court at about 9:20 a.m. June 23.

A Lexington police investigator who was nearby at the time of the shooting applied a tourniquet to White’s leg after the shooting, but he later died at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital.

Anyone who has information about where Burruss and Lynem might be is asked to call police. Anonymous tips may be submitted by calling Bluegrass Crime Stoppers at (859) 253-2020 or online at www.bluegrasscrimestoppers.com.
