Lexington police accuse man of being complicit to murder after teenager shot, killed

A man has been charged with complicity to murder after a homicide occurred Monday night, according to Lexington police.

Isaac Suastequi, 20, has been charged with complicity to murder, two counts of robbery, evidence tampering and marijuana trafficking, police said.

Police don’t expect that Suastequi will be the last suspect detained in the case. They said Wednesday night that the investigation is ongoing and “charges on additional suspects are expected,” according to a statement released by spokeswoman Brenna Angel.

Monday night’s homicide left Miguel Diaz, 19, dead, according to the Fayette County coroner’s office. He was shot on Speigle Street shortly after 7 p.m., police said. There have been 19 homicides this year, including three this week.
