Young couple arrested in connection with woman’s death in Lexington’s Masterson Station

A young couple have been arrested in connection with the death of a 56-year-old woman in Lexington’s Masterson Station subdivision.

Dalton Carpenter, 19, is charged with murder, vehicle theft and evidence tampering in the death of 56-year-old Sabel Jallow, who was found in her Majestic View Walk home about 9:30 a.m. on Monday, according to Lexington police. His girlfriend, Jessica Hoskins, also 19, was also charged with vehicle theft.

Hoskins lived in Jallow’s home, according to Lexington police.

Clay County Sheriff Patrick Robinson first released Jallow’s name on the sheriff’s office’s Facebook page. Information given to the sheriff’s office indicated she’d been dead for several hours before Lexington police found her during a welfare check.

Jallow died of “sharp force injuries,” according to the Fayette County coroner’s office. An autopsy was conducted Tuesday.

Jallow was contracted as a guardian for Hoskins, according to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators learned that Hoskins had ties to Manchester and Clay County. Jallow’s vehicle was found Monday morning in the driveway of the Manchester home where Hoskins’ mother lives, according to the sheriff’s office. Hoskins and Carpenter were found inside the home.

Investigators believe that Hoskins and Carpenter were in a fight with Jallow when Carpenter caused “traumatic injuries” to Jallow, killing her, according to Lexington police.

Hoskins and Carpenter are accused of using the victim’s vehicle to flee to Manchester, according to Lexington police.

Carpenter and Hoskins were being held Tuesday in the Clay County jail.

Manchester police and the Clay County Sheriff’s Office helped the Lexington Police Department in the investigation.
