A pedestrian died after being hit by a motorcycle that fled the scene at Russell Cave Road and New Circle Road in Lexington Friday night.

Lexington police Sgt. James Boyd said the hit-and-run collision happened at 10:04 p.m.

The Fayette County coroner’s office said the pedestrian, Matthew Austin Druin, 37, of Lexington, was pronounced dead at the University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital at 10:30 p.m. as a result of complications from multiple blunt force injuries.

Boyd said Saturday that police were still investigating.

It was the third fatal collision involving a motorcycle in two days in Lexington.
