University of KY police investigate on-campus sexual assault, officials say
University of Kentucky Police is investigating an incident where a student reported being sexually assaulted on- and off-campus, according to a crime bulletin issued Sunday.
UK’s police department notified the community of a sexual assault that occurred on UK’s campus Sept. 20 and took place over multiple days off-campus and on-campus inside the victim’s room in a residence hall, according to university police.
Police did not identify the residence hall, but did confirm the suspect and victim know each other.
UK’s investigation remains ongoing, and the appropriate campus units are working with individuals involved to provide resources and support.
This report comes six days after the police began investigating another allegation of sexual assault on campus after student was reportedly drugged.
The incident occurred Sept. 14, the same day as the home football game against Georgia.
The victim was given a drink, and later discovered that it contained a controlled substance, “which led to them becoming ill and receiving medical attention,” according to the crime notice.
Police received a report of the incident the following day, and campus authorities are investigating, along with police.
