Central KY police locate suspect charged with Lexington homicide

A suspect wanted in connection to a homicide that killed a man on Tates Creek Road in October was arrested, according to Lexington police.

Micah L Carter, 18, was arrested Saturday by the Georgetown Police Department. He was charged with murder and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

The shooting happened around 10:30 p.m. at the 3600 block of Tates Creek Road on Oct. 24.

Lexington police Lt. Dillan Taylor said officers responded to a report of shots fired and found two men with gunshot wounds at the scene.

One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Taylor. The Fayette County Coroner’s Office identified the fatally shot victim as 20-year-old Jadyn Sleet, of Georgetown.

The other victim was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Carter is being held at the Scott County Detention Center.
