Teen charged with murder after missing KY boy found dead. Second boy still missing
A teenager was charged with murder Wednesday after a boy was found dead in Kentucky earlier this week, according to the Lexington Police Department.
Ali Haider Naqvi, a 16-year-old from Nicholasville, was found dead Saturday night in Harrison County, about 20 miles northeast of Lexington.
Ali and another teen, Aoun Ismail Basboos, 15, were reported missing May 11. Police said they believed both boys were in immediate danger, and Aoun is still missing.
A 17-year-old was charged with murder in Ali’s death. He and 47-year-old Jesus Eduardo Reyes-Rodriguez had previously been charged with evidence tampering in the case.
The teen has been held at a juvenile detention center since May 14.
Ali and Aoiun were last seen getting into the back seat of a car just after shots were fired in the 3300 block of Spangler Drive, near Tates Creek and New Circle roads in Lexington, police said.
Police have not released further information about how the shots fired incident was related to the teens’ disappearance.
The car, a white 2020 Acura ILX, was found Thursday at Loradale Market, in the 6800 block of Russell Cave Road, about 6 1/2 miles south of where Ali’s body was found Saturday.
