Police looking for man accused of shooting in downtown Lexington

The Lexington Police Department is seeking information about a 29-year-old man accused of shooting another man in downtown Lexington.

The shooting happened around 2 a.m. Aug. 29 in the 300 block of West Short Street. Police previously said a man was shot, and a business was hit by gunfire.

The man was taken to a hospital and expected to recover, police said.

Detectives have identified Jonathan Streete, 29, as the suspect. Police said he has active warrants for one count of first-degree assault and five counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.

People who spot Streete should not approach him and should call local law enforcement, police said.
