A Clark County man linked to the overdose deaths of two women has been indicted in federal court.

Brian Epperson, 44, of Clark County, was indicted Oct. 16 on two charges of distribution of methamphetamine resulting in death.

Epperson was charged for the deaths of Kristen Morris, 32, of Powell County, and Reachel Dawson, 29, of Winchester.

Both women died of methamphetamine overdoses inside properties rented under Epperson’s name.

On May 31, Morris was found dead in an Airbnb Epperson had rented on Patsy Road in Stanton, according to court records. Epperson was present when Morris died.

Toxicology results weeks later showed that Morris died of a methamphetamine overdose that the coroner said involved much more of the drug than a “typical overdose,” court records state.

The coroner found “tablets filled with an unknown substance” at the scene.

Then, just after midnight on June 27, the Winchester Police Department received a call about a missing person.

A family member of Dawson had used an app to track her phone to a Red Roof Inn.

Winchester police said they found the woman unresponsive in a hotel room Epperson rented. She was pronounced dead soon after, court records state.

“As officers investigated the crime, the same style capsules were located in a bag in Brian Epperson’s truck,” court records state. “Those tablets were consistent with the ones in Powell County (that) contributed to the overdose death of Kristen Morris, which he was also present for.”

Winchester police said Epperson bought the methamphetamine in Lexington and filled the capsules with it.

In state court, Epperson faces the murder charge in Powell County, as well as a voyeurism charge in Clark County. He is scheduled for a pretrial conference Nov. 5 for the murder charge.
