Lexington police have made an arrest after a private, Islamic school was evacuated Friday due to a bomb threat.

In a news release Tuesday, the Lexington Police Department announced it had charged a juvenile in connection with the bomb threat made against Lexington Universal Academy on Nicholasville Road.

The school was evacuated and searched, and the threat and law enforcement response led to the brief closure of lanes on Nicholasville Road, one of Lexington’s busiest corridors. No hazardous devices were found.

The ongoing investigation into who made the threat led detectives to a 15-year-old, police report. The teen has been charged with terroristic threatening in the first degree, which is a class C felony in Kentucky, according to the release. The identity of the teen charged was not released.
