A Kentucky Uber driver has been arrested and charged with raping a female passenger while she was unconscious during a ride.

The incident happened Aug. 30 in Richmond when woman was picked up by Clifford Partin, 61, of Corbin, at a party on High Street because she was too intoxicated to drive home, according to Partin’s arrest warrant.

The woman lost consciousness shortly after the ride began, according to the court documents. While she was unconscious, Partin allegedly pulled the car into a secluded section of a parking lot, surrounded by bushes and trees, and raped his passenger. Surveillance video shows the vehicle parking and remaining in the lot for about 25 minutes.

The woman woke up sometime later and demanded to be taken home. Court documents say she made Partin drop her off a short distance away from her home so he wouldn’t know where she lived.

GPS data obtained from Uber confirms the woman’s account of events, according to court documents.

Partin agreed to take a polygraph exam with Kentucky State Police and admitted to raping the woman, according to court documents. He is charged with first-degree rape - incapable of consent or physically helpless and first-degree sodomy - incapable of consent or physically helpless.

The Corbin man was booked into the Madison County Detention Center Monday, according to jail records. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Madison District Court Wednesday, Dec. 3.

Partin’s bond is set at $100,000. He has no prior criminal history, and it is unclear if he has an attorney at this time.
