A Campton man is dead after another car crossed the center line and struck his vehicle in Wolfe County Saturday afternoon.

Around 4 p.m. March 21, Kentucky State Police were called to the scene of a two-vehicle, fatal crash near the 2400 Block of KY 191, according to a Sunday release from the agency.

An initial investigation indicates a 2003 Ford Explorer operated by Michael Brand, 49, of Campton, crossed over the center line striking a 1998 Chevrolet S-10 pickup driven by Troy L. Perry, 51, also of Campton, state police said.

Perry died at the scene, and Brand was transported to UK HealthCare for his injuries, according to KSP. Veranda Brand, 18, a passenger in the Ford Explorer, was taken to Clark Regional Medical Center.

The severity of the Brands’ injuries was not made clear in the report from state police.

The collision is being reconstructed and remains under investigation.
