Sheriff’s deputies were called to Wilson’s home after receiving a report of a domestic situation. According to court documents, a woman arrived at the home and saw Wilson assaulting the child.

The woman saw the child was in visible pain and separated them from Wilson. She took pictures of the child’s injuries about 10 minutes after the assault, and the photos showed scratches and redness on the child’s face, according to court documents.

Wilson told a deputy he grabbed the child’s shoulders and did not cause the scratches to their face, according to court documents. He was arrested and booked into the Scott County Detention Center.

Wilson was released from the jail sometime later after posting a $2,000 bond, according to court records. He is not allowed to contact the victim while out on bond.

Wilson has worked with the Lexington Police Department since August 2009.

Wilson is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday, April 21, in Scott District Court.
