A Las Vegas resident stopped at a casino after work and ended up winning a jackpot prize.

The gambler went to Binion’s Gambling Hall & Hotel and sat at a Dragon Link Golden Century slot machine, the hotel said in a Sept. 11 Facebook post.

They bet $5 and watched as the symbols flashed across the screen.

Then a jackpot message appeared saying they had won $14,824.55.

“We love seeing locals WIN!” the hotel said in the post.

An Indiana player won $12,283.06 at the same casino, McClatchy News reported in August.

They bet 60 cents at a Smokin’ Hot Stuff Wicked Wheel slot machine and hit the jackpot.

Binion’s Gambling Hall & Hotel is on Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas.

Many people can gamble or play games of chance without harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that can ruin lives and families.

If you or a loved one shows signs of gambling addiction, you can seek help by calling the national gambling hotline at 1-800-522-4700 or visiting the National Council on Problem Gambling website.
