38,000 beach loungers have been recalled because they might cost you part of a finger

When you finish lying on the beach or balcony, you should have the same number of fingers with which you started and in the same condition. That’s why Family Dollar recalled 38,300 beach loungers on Wednesday.

The exact problem, as stated in the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recall alert: “The recalled loungers can collapse unexpectedly, posing an injury hazard if fingers get caught in the metal folding joints.”

Fortunately, this hasn’t happened to anyone yet, to the knowledge of Family Dollar, which is owned by Dollar Tree.

This covers red and blue loungers with a white metal frame, model Nos. SKU 3499631 or SKU 3401281.
