Drunk babysitters were speeding with 6 kids in car — 3 of them in trunk, KY cops say
When Kentucky state troopers pulled over an 18-year-old who was supposed to be babysitting, they found three kids asleep in the trunk and three in the back without car seats, local media report.
Krislon T. Talbott was pulled over this week on Interstate 165 in Hartford, Kentucky, going 97 in a 70-mph zone, the Courier Journal reported. Troopers say the car smelled like weed, and Talbott was intoxicated, according to the Courier Journal.
The trooper saw three children in the back of the car without car seats, according to The Owensboro Times.
Then, while a trooper was conducting sobriety tests with Talbott, he heard noises coming from the back of the car, The Owensboro Times reported. He then found three children asleep in the trunk of the car, the Times said.
All six children were under the age of 5, according to The Owensboro Times.
Two other adult women were passengers in the car and were also supposed to be babysitting the children, according to SurfKY News. All three women were taken to Ohio County Jail in Hartford, and Social Services took the kids, media outlets reported.
Talbott was charged with speeding, reckless driving, eight counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, aggravated DUI, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, six counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and failure to wear a seat belt, according to SurfKY News.
Peyton N. Coomes, 19, was charged with six counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, plus six counts of failure to use child restraint device, six counts of endangering the welfare of a minor, public intoxication, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, The Owensboro Times reported.
Allison Frazier, 20, was also charged with public intoxication, six counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, tampering with physical evidence, six counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and several drug charges, the Courier Journal reported.
